Region V has attained 501 c 3 status!
On September 25, 2014, Region V received notice that they were granted a tax exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service to form the Region V Hazardous Materials Response Commission Foundation Inc.
The Mission Statement of the Foundation is: To serve and support Region V Hazardous Materials Response Commission ("The Commission")
The Commission's purpose is to implement joint and/or cooperative action in training and response activities for hazardous materials in our 9 county region. The Foundation assists the Commission's members by lessening the burden of those counties and by fostering public safety.
The Region V Hazmat Foundation was recently formed as a nonprofit 501 (C) 3 to provide financial support to the Region V area first responder's and our regional hazmat team. The foundation will be actively fundraising in the future to support training and equipment for Region V.
Region V Hazardous Materials Response Commission & LEPC (Local Emergency Planning Committee) organization is made up of 9 counties including Calhoun, Carroll, Green, Hamilton, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Sac, Webster and Wright.
